The boys 4 x 100 Relay team (sophomore Andre Dixon, Alex Munos, senior Ken’Daylon Wilson, and freshman Floyd Ragston) picked up gold at the area competition.
The Hempstead High School track teams participated at the UIL Class 3A Area Track and Field Meet in early April. The ‘Cats ran away with numerous regional qualifying times. Regionals will be Saturday, April 24, at Waco Midway High School.
Bobcat athletes who qualified for regionals are senior Alex Munos (High Jump and 400 M), senior Ken’Daylon Wilson (200 M), Andre Dixon (100 and 200 M), Boys 4 x 100 Relay team (sophomore Andre Dixon, Munos, senior Wilson, and freshman Floyd Ragston), and the boys' 4 x 200 relay (junior Cardarius Jeffery, Wilson, Ragston, and Tramain Auston),
The Ladycats will send junior Nikki London (200 M), freshman JaNovia Kinsey (Triple Jump), and the girls' 4 x 200 relay (senior D’Ny’Jzshia Wilson, sophomore Marlana Bryant, Kinsey, and London).
Munos and K. Wilson continued their gold medal-winning streaks in their respective events at the area contest. Dixon finished fourth in both his events. London also continues to pace the girls' team as she picked up two golds in the area round.
Kinsey climbed two spots from her district showing and finished second among area competitors.
The boys and girls relay teams picked up where they left off from the district where the boys 4x100 and 4x200 finished first and the girls 4x200 finished second.
