Hempstead High School senior Fredarien Lewis signed a letter of intent with Angelo State University on Wednesday, February 5. He was one of 28 freshman who signed with Angelo State on National Signing Day and will be joining the Rams to play football under Coach Jeff Girsch in the fall.
Family, friends, coaches, teachers, and administrators were on hand to show support for Lewis at the signing that took place during the NCAA National Football Signing Day in the HHS Competition Gym at Hempstead High School. Fellow teammates and classmates were also on hand to witness the event and show their support.
Lewis, who was selected to the 13-3A 1st Team All-District this year for his ability as an offensive lineman for the Bobcats, thanked his family and coaches for pushing him to do his best every day.
Lewis will receive a four-year scholarship to attend Angelo State and plans to study sports management. He plans to graduate with a degree and hopes to play in the NFL one day.
